Wood has accompanied me throughout my working life. I have been through construction, investment projects and quality management, until my path led me to roof trusses, log houses and historic buildings.
What I enjoy most about this work is what cannot be seen at first glance: the detail of a joint, moisture in the roof truss, the type of infestation, the story wood tells about itself and the house. And it was here that I came across something that kept me awake: the extent of damage is often assessed by the person who then sells the remediation. The client finds it hard to navigate and easily pays for more than they really need.
That is why today I do only one thing: independent surveys and diagnostics of timber structures. No remediation, no repairs, no chemical products. Just an honest assessment of the real condition and a recommendation of what to deal with now, what is enough to monitor, and where you can save unnecessary interventions and costs. So that your decision stands on facts, not on someone's commercial interest. A clean, expert and independent report, always in the client's best interest.

I adapt every survey to the specific building and the client's needs. I explain the results so that a mayor, an architect and a carpenter can all understand them. The report then really serves its purpose, not just as paper in a drawer.

I work with certified mycologists, structural engineers and dendrochronologists. Where a visual inspection is not enough, I use resistance drilling, endoscopy, thermography and moisture meters. I measure, document, recommend.
